Where Curiosity Leads

Lexington's play-based preschool since 1984.

Where childhood is celebrated every day. Children 15 months to 5 years play, explore, create, and grow — and through hands-on experiences and caring relationships, become kind friends, confident learners, and joyful members of our community.

Why families choose LPC

Over 40 years of play-based learning

Since 1984, we’ve believed that children learn best through play. Our emergent, interest-led approach follows children’s natural curiosity, giving them the freedom to explore, create, and discover. By leading their own learning, children develop confidence, problem-solving skills, creativity, and independence that last far beyond the preschool years.

Teacher longevity

Our teachers don’t just work here — they build careers here. Sandy was on our very first teaching team in 1984. Casey joined us in 1993, and Talia in 1999. This kind of longevity is rare in early childhood education, and it matters.

A backyard built for exploring

Hobbit house. Apple trees. Trike path. Tunnels, movable logs, blueberry bushes. Room to dig, climb, hide, and wander, every day and in every season.

They loved my kids as if they were theirs, and supported and celebrated their very different personalities.
